Erica Nam, 19, is a rising violinist from West Chester, Ohio, whose artistry has already earned her recognition on national and international stages. She is graduate of the Juilliard Pre-College and a rising sophomore at the Juilliard School, where she studies with renowned Catherine Cho, following more than a decade of training in the distinguished Starling Project under Kurt Sassmannshaus. She has also studied with Amy Lee, Associate Concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra.

Erica has appeared in masterclasses with many of today’s leading violinists, including Vadim Gluzman, Clara-Jumi Kang, Jinjoo Cho, Noah Bendix-Balgley, Friedemann Eichhorn, and others. Her recent solo highlights include her debut with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra in Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy and a performance of Wieniawski Concerto No. 2 with the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. At the age of nine, she toured China as a soloist with the Starling Showcase Orchestra.

A 2024 Stulberg International String Competition semi-finalist, Erica has been recognized with numerous awards, including first prizes in the Matinée Musicale/Nancy Walker Scholarship Competition and the Wonnell Young Artist Competition, as well as top honors at the Louisville Young Artist Competition, Overture Awards, New Albany Symphony Concerto Competition, and the Sejong Music Competition, where she received the Best Interpretation of a Korean Piece prize.

Her festival appearances span leading programs such as Morningside Music Bridge, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Great Wall International Music Academy, Sounding Point Academy, Encore Chamber Music Academy, and most recently, the Meadowmount School of Music, where she was featured on The Violin Channel.

Beyond her solo career, Erica has held leadership positions as concertmaster and principal second violinist in ensembles including the Starling Chamber Orchestra and the Cincinnati Symphony Philharmonic. Known for her poise, intensity, and command of style, she brings equal passion to both solo performance and chamber collaboration, continuing to shape her voice as one of the most compelling young violinists of her generation.
